School Life

The School Day

Timetables vary according to the ages of the children and from Pre-Prep to Prep.  Below are outlines of the timings of a typical day:

Pre-Prep

  • 8.15am School day begins and children come into their classrooms.
  • 8.30 Registration and assembly or extra lessons.
  • 9.00 Literacy and Numeracy lessons begin
  • 10.30 Fruit snack and playtime
  • 11.00 Science or Art lesson
  • 12.00pm Lunch followed by break in the Woods
  • 1.00 Specialist PE lesson
  • 2.00 Art, DT or Topic lesson
  • 3.30 Time to go home, attend an activity or go to After School Club for Reception to Year 2
  • 4.20 As above for Years 3 and 4

Prep

  • 8.15am School day begins and children come into their classrooms
  • 8.30 Registration and assembly or music activities/PSHE
  • 9.00 Lessons begin
  • 10.30 Biscuits and break
  • 11.00 Lessons resume
  • 1.00 Lunch followed by break
  • 2.00 Afternoon lessons begin
  • 4.00 Short break and snack
  • 5.00 Prep * Children may be collected at 4.55 pm on Friday if they take their prep home
  • 5.30 Home for Year 5 day pupils
  • 6.00 Home or supper for boarders

NB Some extra-curricular activities run from 6.30pm – day children are very welcome to stay for supper before joining these
