At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.

A little behind the scenes at DH on Thursday 📸
The school was buzzing as Sophie and Daisha from Kins Photographic spent the day with us, capturing everything from lessons and music to sport, the river and boarding supper.
The children loved having them here, taking the mic to talk about what they were up to and generally getting very involved! Sophie and Daisha were brilliant, running alongside our cross-country runners, dodging hockey and footballs and getting pretty close to the edge of the pond at times.
Thanks for bringing such great energy to DH. We can’t wait to see the photos and share some of them with you here too!

Good luck to our Dorset House Equestrian Team competing at Beech Farm today! 🐎
The team heads into today’s NSEA event following some fantastic results at the NSEA National Championships at Hickstead.
In the 70cm Grassroots Final, Archie finished an impressive fourth individually.
Iyla jumped a beautiful double clear in the 40cm Final.
Archie also competed in the Hurst National Championships at Hickstead, jumping a superb double clear in the qualifier to secure his place in the Junior Competition Final in the famous Hickstead Main Arena. It was a great honour to represent Dorset House in such an iconic arena, and Archie did so in style, producing another double clear in the final. A dream come true for him to compete there.
A huge well done to Archie and Iyla on these fantastic achievements. Competing at national level is a wonderful accomplishment and a great source of pride for Dorset House. Their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication have certainly been rewarded.
