WELCOME TO Dorset House School
PART OF THE LANCING COLLEGE FAMILY OF SCHOOLS
Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

Art continues to flourish at DH and our recent inspection report states, `Pupils attending art enrichment sessions produce high-quality work because of the teacher`s expertise and the opportunities they are given to develop their own ideas.`
Following an inspection in early February, we were delighted to receive the full report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
Headmistress, Sarah Sutherland-Booth commented:
`The inspectors were extremely positive about the culture, ethos and day-to-day experience of pupils at Dorset House. They highlighted the strength of relationships across our community, the breadth of our curriculum and co‑curricular offering, the high standards of care in both the day school and boarding, and the confidence, kindness and enthusiasm shown by our pupils. I was particularly heartened by their recognition of our commitment to pupils’ wellbeing and the effectiveness of our pastoral systems at every stage.`
Today, we are proud sponsors of the dog show @racing_at_parham_march and so it was great to see the @lancing_college Bursar checking things out!
Congratulations on your rosette.
We hope everyone enjoys the day and do come and say ‘hello’ at the next event on 25th April when we look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand. @parham_races_april
