At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.

Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.

Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.

Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.

One week to go until A Day in the Life of DH! 🥳

Join us on Saturday 26 September, 10am–2pm, for a fun community event for the whole family.

Pick up your DH map when you arrive and set off to explore the school, with something happening around every corner! There’ll be Forest School, cookery, sport, science, music, art & DT, maths challenges, dinosaurs and archaeology, French, Greek drama, face painting and loads more!

We’re also very excited to have @thenurseryschoolcompany joining us on the day. They’ll be our new Pre-School provider from January 2027, so come along and meet the team.

Come and meet our staff, pupils and current parents and enjoy a little bit of DH life for yourself.

A little behind the scenes at DH on Thursday 📸

The school was buzzing as Sophie and Daisha from Kins Photographic spent the day with us, capturing everything from lessons and music to sport, the river and boarding supper.

The children loved having them here, taking the mic to talk about what they were up to and generally getting very involved! Sophie and Daisha were brilliant, running alongside our cross-country runners, dodging hockey and footballs and getting pretty close to the edge of the pond at times.

Thanks for bringing such great energy to DH. We can’t wait to see the photos and share some of them with you here too!
