WELCOME TO Dorset House School
PART OF THE LANCING COLLEGE FAMILY OF SCHOOLS

Welcome
At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.
Prospective parents often comment on the warmth of this school and if that is something which is important to your family, please call to make an appointment to visit us. We look forward to meeting you.

We have a National Champion!
Iyla in Year 1 is the new National 40cm Champion! 🏆
She rode two beautiful rounds on her pony Spirit - winning both the Warm-Up Class and the Championship Class – an incredible achievement for Iyla and for DH at the NSEA National Championships at Hickstead.
In the 50cm, Tiggy (who has just joined Year 9 Brighton College) and Archie (Year 3) were fantastic, finishing 6th in the team event and Archie was 6th individually.
Tiggy also rode a brilliant round in the 60cm – not placing this time, but a huge achievement to qualify and compete at that level.
Well done to all our riders – we are so proud of you!

Join us for our next Open Morning on Friday 26th September - 9.30 am to 11.30 am.

Some tours are already full so please call or email (sobrien@dorsethouseschool.com) to book.
We look forward to meeting you and your children.

While the rest of the school were settling into their new classes, Year 7 and 8 had a great start to the school year in Normandy, embracing opportunities such as canoeing, orienteering, fencing and climbing - showing enthusiasm and practising their French throughout. A special highlight was the visit to Gold Beach at Arromanches and the British Memorial which gave them a powerful glimpse into history.

Our next Open Morning will be in September 2025...
...but visitors are always welcome. Please call the school to arrange an appointment (01798 831456)
