At Dorset House, we aim to provide a magical prep school experience for our pupils in an environment where children are engaged, enthused and inspired. We are often described as a greenhouse not a hot house and we find that pupils grow in confidence in our high challenge/low threat atmosphere.
Our committed and talented staff foster close links between home and school and we know every child well, meaning that we are aware of any successes achieved or issues they are facing.
Our optional flexi and weekly boarding for our Prep children, promote independence.
Happy, confident – not arrogant young people, who can relate to and communicate with others – Dorset House children often win awards and scholarships to senior schools and regularly going on to hold positions of responsibility.

Come and spend a day with us at Dorset House.
`A Day in the Life of DH` is a little different from a traditional Open Day. It’s a chance to bring the family, explore, join in and get a real feel for school life.
If you’re looking for the right school for your child, this is a brilliant opportunity to experience our community, meet our staff and pupils and chat to some of our current families.
There’ll be plenty happening throughout the day, from science and music to Forest School, cooking, sport and maths challenges. Come along, get involved and experience a little bit of everything that makes DH, DH.

Each year, every child from Reception to Year 8 has a piece of Art or DT work on display, making it a wonderful celebration of creativity across the whole school. It was lovely to welcome families to view the exhibition before the Summer Concert and see the imagination, skill and hard work that had gone into every display.
A wonderful Dorset House tradition and always such a special evening.
No challenge is ever too big for Mr Arbuthnot and the Year 7 DT class!
To celebrate Headmistress Sarah Sutherland-Booth`s first 100 days at Dorset House, some of the Year 7 pupils set to work designing, 3D printing and sewing a very special Dorset House medal.
Mrs Sutherland-Booth had no idea what was coming and was completely surprised when she was presented with her very own medal at the end of the Prep Sports Day prize giving.
