Reception planned how to make delicious ladybirds – with the correct colours, numbers of legs and plenty of spots! We used muffins, strawberry jam, blueberries and cola laces to make the legs. A relatively healthy, delicious and anatomically correct study of the ladybird to tie in with our symmetry and doubling maths, and the Bad Tempered Ladybird book by Eric Carle.
Their tadpoles are beginning to grow their back legs, and as you can see here, the ants are very busy digging relatively enormous tunnels. And the caterpillars and forming upside-down hook shapes preparing to pupate, it’s all go!
