Year 2 are learning about Snow and Ice as their topic and have been learning about Penguins. We have learnt about the important role a Daddy Penguin plays and how he cares for the egg, and then chick, in the harsh conditions of Antarctica. We tried to switch the penguin egg (a baby penguin toy) between a Mummy and Daddy. Here you can see Polly suceeding and Martha and Prudie practising hard.
An area of woodland at Dorset House has been transformed into an outdoor gallery by our Year 5 pupils who have worked hard on their Land Art project. They were rewarded with first prize in the Rotary Land Art Competition and have won £250 to spend on art materials for the school. The younger children have enjoyed exploring the fascinating exhibits which have withstood the recent storms.
The Pre-Prep made some lovely poppies to decorate the church pews for our Remembrance Day service on Saturday morning. Each class also made a wreath to remember the fallen soldiers and the children wrote notes to the soldiers on the back of the wreath. We laid these at our service and thought of the soldiers at 11am today.read more
