Budding Architects

 

There was great excitement today with the arrival of some architectural Lego.  Mrs Harrison presented this to the children during Art Club at lunchtime and they were absorbed by the new shapes.  This range is designed with older students of architecture in mind but Dorset House pupils were thrilled with what they could create.  We may well need more bricks to keep up with demand...

getting sticky...

 Years 2 and 3 have been making papier mache masks and sweets as part of their topics.  Year 2 are learning about African Art and have sketched some African masks.  Year 3 are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and hope to design some new sweets.

Old Dorms, New Dorms

 During the Christmas break, our lovely girls' dorms have been given a makeover. The beamed rooms have been painted and carpeted.  As you can see, the reaction has been good!

Local Schools Enjoy Netball Fun

 

This afternoon the Year 3 & 4 girls kicked off their spring term netball by hosting a festival for local schools. Arundel C of E and Duncton primary schools arrived for an afternoon of netball fun! The children started with some ball skills to warm them up ready for some match play. Then everyone had a go on court, working really well together. This was impressive as all the girls were playing with new people from the other schools. The match play provided some exciting and energetic netball with some fantastic goals being scored across all the teams. Overall a great afternoon of sport despite the cold January weather!
