Reception enjoyed a wonderful early Autumn day at Goodwood Farm. This enhanced their topic on Ourselves and Food.
They loved seeing the pigs and learning about what they ate and lived in. Favourites were the cows and calves - they were all so friendly!
They learnt how to make butter and enjoyed eating it on crackers and then ground the wheat grain into flour. They came back to school full of the fresh air and lots of facts about the farm.
The choir went on a trip to Brighton to take part in MMA's Festival of Singing. We had a picnic on the beach before walking to the Brighton Dome. We were one of 12 local prep schools, so there were nearly two hundred children. We all rehearsed a piece called Zadok-Rules Hallelujah which we had been learning with Mr Marconi. We were conducted by the composer of the piece Alexander l’Estrange. Then we all performed the piece along with four professional singers and a professional pianist. We all really enjoyed the day and it was a great experience taking part in a massed sing!read more
Congratulations to Sam Green (Y7) who has made it through the final West Area trial and has one of the (maximum 8) U12 places on the West Area's combined U12/13 winter coaching programme.
This was an incredibly competitive process so Sam has done exceptionally well.
The combined squad of 18 or 19 players will now have an eight week coaching programme. This year, county coaches will be in attendance each week and selected players will be invited for county trials In January. After county selection the remaining West and North Area players will be combined and a Spartan team of 16 players selected.
