Year 2 went back in time today to school in Victorian times. We experienced many lessons from Victorian time and felt privileged to be able to go to school. Writing on slates was hard and copperplate dip pens also require a lot of skill. We were so well behaved we didn't face the cane! Miss Venables Kyrke was pleased no DH pupil had to wear the dunce’s hat too! You will see we spent our lunch in the Castle Grounds in Guildford and played with a variety of Victorian toys. We had a lunch of ham sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper, apples and Victoria sponge cake.read more
