Last night, the attached DH Dads team beat Westbourne for the first time since father's cricket established itself years ago. Chasing Westbourne's 157-7, and needing 14 in the last over with no wickets remaining, DH scored a winning boundary on the last ball to win by 4 runs.
Y6 pupils enjoyed a “hands on” crime scene activity day at Christ's Hospital.
Experiments covered all three aspects of science from microscope analysis of hair samples, testing for blood and analysis of trace plant material in Biology to chemical analysis and residue testing for unknown substances and fingerprint analysis in in Chemistry. In Physics pupils discovered how unseen trace evidence can be detected using UV light and were able to analyse glass and ink samples.
At the end of the day all the children came together in a “Court “ to present their findings and produce enough evidence to prove which of the 4 suspects was guilty of stealing the Doughnut from the Head of Science!
A fantastic day was enjoyed by all with an opportunity to see the band play prior to a lovely lunch. Pupils were treated to doughnuts and drinks at the end of the day!
