Reception and Year One enjoyed an exciting trip to the Winchester Science Centre on Thursday. We practised our Alien songs on the way. We started the day with a very interesting workshop about Light and Shadows; I think we all really impressed Rick with our knowledge about light sources and the way light is reflected by shiny objects. We all enjoyed making a shadow puppet and then using a torch to cast a shadow and make it move. Our packed lunches were eaten rather quickly followed by a short play in the new outside play area before we gathered in our groups and went off to explore the hands on exhibits. We loved making our voices sound funny in the very strange Alien sound room and making parachutes whizz up a column of air almost to the ceiling. There was so much to see and do. Mrs Marconi and Mrs Bentley were very proud of the way we all behaved on what was Reception's very first school trip.read more
Four of our top string players - Verity Leggett, Alex Leech, Orla Williamson and Amity Blowey, attended the Lancing College String Experience. Alongside other local Prep Schools over forty children took part. It was a wonderful experience to play in such a large string ensemble and with some of the more experienced older children at Lancing. They played pieces by Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky. There was also time to visit the school farm and the tuck shop before the final concert in the evening in Lancing's stunning chapel - what a great day!
